BLUE.
This weeks collage is a combination of collage and haiku. A sweet little creative writing technique that I learned from Tracy Verdugo at www.tracyverdugo.com. She has a wide variety of art classes in a wide variety of price points. Something for everyone! Go check her out! I'll be right here when you get back.
What is haiku? Pronunciation: 2 syllables. "Hi + Koo". Short version: Haiku is a type of short poem originating in Japan. It is written in 3 lines that do not rhyme . First line is 5 syllables. Second line is 7 syllables. Third line is also 5 syllables. I think of them as the mixed media version of poetry. They're abstract and the viewer gets to assign their own meaning to it.
This week's haiku was inspired by the images and words on 4 different pieces of torn paper from 3 different magazines.
The handwriting in the image does not photograph well, so I'm writing it here for you.
