52 weeks of collage, week 6

Comfort.

Ahhhhhh nothing like a comfy chair and a rustic cart filled with books and yarn.  That's my idea of comfort.  What's yours?
Week 6 woohoooo!  Are we having fun?  This week we are going to add a wee bit of visual texture with a simple #2 pencil.  And maybe some water.

First, grab your pencil and write and scribble all over your blank journal page!

If you have very thin paper instead of spraying the paper just spray the paper towel and dab at the pencil marks to make some lighter.  If you feel that your pencil marks are perfect just as they are, leave them be in their perfection!

While that's drying cut out your images and words that scream comfort for you.   A few random sparks to get you started:  comfort food, comfortable walk in the woods, shopping, playing with kids, hugs, playing with pets, live music, writing, coloring, watching tv, dancing, puzzles, games.  I could go on but I will stop there.  So you can go cut out your words and images.

Is your journal's paper dry?  If it feels damp or cold; its NOT dry.  Glue will not stick to paper unless the paper is dry.
Now just collage on top of the pencil marks and allow some of the background with pencil marks to show through.

Week 6 Collage #52collages2021

I hope you enjoyed this first very easy exercise of adding texture to the background of your collage.  Let me know if you have any questions.  I'm looking forward to seeing your Week 6 Collage and seeing what comfort looks like for you!
