52 Weeks of Collage, Week 43

HOLE.

This collage was a fun exercise of playing with texture!   There's leaves, lace, a torn piece of watercolor paper, acrylic paint, abstract stamps with various sized circles and india ink applied with the pointy end of a skewer to make the lines.  And some wonky dots make with the cut end of the skewer.  Applying ink with a skewer is completely unpredictable, and I loved that.

Playing with ink and a skewer was a fun rabbit hole.  I also used the technique on waxed paper!  So those bits and bobs will make an appearance next week.  It dries slowly since the ink can't absorb into the wax paper.  I wonder what would happen if I dropped a large blob of ink and used the heat tool to blow it around?  That sounds like messy fun.  Expect to see more ink on waxed paper in next week's collage.

Leaves from red oak trees layer on top of a torn piece of colorful watercolor paper. Amidst a background of ink splatters, lines and texture.
Week 43 Final Collage.

I hope your week is filled with fun and messy rabbit holes.

Until Next Week,
