52 Weeks of Collage, Week 46

PATTERN . A collage of patterns. With a splash of solid color and good bit of white space to keep it visually balanced and not overwhelming. Week 46 Collage. Theme: Pattern. Humor or Frustration, your choice.

Today's Oracle card is Humor. And so far this collage is humorously horrid. What to do when a collage takes a wrong turn? Hahahah more layers of course! First, I turned it in a bunch of different directions to get a different perspective. Surprisingly enough, 50% of the time that works perfectly. This is not one of those times. Next, walk away from it. Do something else. I walked the dog, had breakfast, drank a cup of tea, decided what to have for dinner. Came back to it. Still don't like it. When all else fails ass more layers. There are many ways to go about it. I could just add gesso to the whole thing and get back to background state. Or only add gesso or paint or collage to the part I don't like. Still undecided, stay tuned.

52 Collages, Week 48

EMPTY. The word empty gives me images of high contrast black and white. Maybe the wet, cold, rain/snow/hail mix weather has something to do with it 😐. I started this collage with some mark making as a background. Then I located images that gave me that feeling of contrast. In the collage I layered things in a way to emphasise the contrasts, such as curvey lines next to straight lines. Or small aged text next to larger newer text. Week 48 Final Collage, Theme: EMPTY.
